CBSE Computer Science Topper Without a PC

Hey folks, my name is Gulshan Kumar Pal. I am a high school pass out (2021 - 22 batch).

Now, coming straight to the point, in class 11th I opted for commerce with computer science as an optional subject (I know that sounds like a strange combination). I spent 2 years learning computer science in grade 11th and 12th, and the catch is that throughout these 2 years I did not have any PC / laptop, and still managed to score the highest marks in my class 12th CBSE board exams. I scored 99/100 marks, and yes without any type of cheating or unfair means. Not only this, I was the most proefficient coder in my class.

I used my mother's smartphone to run my python code and work on SQL databases through some apps (jugaads as we say in hindi).

Interested by the initial classes of python, I started learning python on my own from numerous youtube tutorials and articles on the internet. Even after I had learned all that was in my curriculum, I didn't stop, I went beyond our books and learned things like object oriented programming and GUI libraries.

What I want to tell you is that my high school experience taught me that there is really nothing that can stop you from achieving anything you want. Doesn't matter if you don't have 60k to spend on a laptop, or you dont have any access to coaching classes... The only real restriction is your own self.

Start where you are, with what you have and do what you can... And you will see the path lighting up as you walk ahead.
